A happy holidays to all

I'd like to wish all the readers of my blog, and their family,  a very  happy & healthy holiday season, and New Year. Thank you also for visiting, most particularly to the people who comment & leave messages. They are much appreciated.

The second half of this years has been a particuliarely worrying time one for us. There is a while longer to go with my wife's treatment and hopefully things will resume a degree of "normality". There are going to be changes in our lives, not least the building of our boat.

I now have our temporary building/workshop tent up and ready, some more wood is being delivered early in the new year and then the works starts on the building of the hull. This is a much better shelter than some I have used in the past!

    1. Thank you so much Gorges. Although I am not religious myself, I do really appreciate the thoughts and care that go into praying for someone you never met.

  2. Thanks for the warm thoughts. May your wife continue to improve.

Enjoy your boat build. That shelter will keep the wind and rain off you.

    All the best!

    1. Well, Sixbears, I went into my shelter this morning, and although it's blowing a gale and raining, it was really quite a confortable temperature in there! And the light is ever so good too! I am very pleased with it.

My wife is improving, she had surgeru about six weeks ago and is feeling much better, although she still has some disconfort. And she started chemo therapy again. Another two chemo and then it's really hoping like mad that the cancer won't come back for a long, long while.

  3. Happy holidays to you and yours Joel. I sincerely hope your wife's health will continue to improve. I wish you both the very best in the new year and onwards.
I'm going to be watching your boat building progress with interest. The shelter looks to be great. I do believe I could live in that, at least during the summer!

  4. Thank you Oldbushrat. We have had a good, family orientated time, so far this Xmas.
I'll be posting some more pictures and details as I go along this build. It should prove interesting, even for me, because I have no "proper" plans for this boat, and will be making most of it up as I go along!
I have seen pictures of people using this type of shelter to protect caravans they were living in. I think it's a bit vulnerable to strongwinds though.
