Carving a spoon. Part one

This is my first venture into making short videos, but I'll be making more short videos to show how I carve a spoon. Apart from cutting the blank on the band saw to save timber, I'll try to only use that curved carving tool. I haven't got a plan as to what the spoon will look like when it's done, and I hope it will prove interesting to a few people.

So, here goes...

  1. Hi, Joel! Thanks for sharing, it helped me a lot! Is that your new crooked knife you are using?

  2. Thanks Fimbulmyrk. Glad it's of some help to you, and hopefully a few other people too. Yes it is the new knife, although i have now changed the handle. It was a bit too short, and a bit too big at the end. I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I am going to do some more videos. I am also making a few of those carving knives and some blank spoons and put them for sale as a kit soon, and I will use the videos to show how I carve a spoon, from start to finish.
