A recently finished folder

I recently finished this friction folder. The brief was for a knife who could handle some woodwork and some bushcraft activities. I haven't received feed back yet, so I hope I have succeded and the owner is pleased with it.

It's a variation on the theme of my folders. The handle is a bit slimmer, and the shapes slightly more rounded. The blade is sharper (more pointy) with a scandi grind as the owner felt happy with keeping a scandi grind sharp.

I made the knife stronger with slitghly thicker liners, 4.2mm diameter steel pivot for the blade, 2.5mm steel pins to assemble the knife. The scales are Walnut with a lovely but subtle pattern, finished with Danish oil.

  2. Very nice-looking knife. Good file work and I see what you mean about the figure in the handle.

  4. Thank you gents. If I remember correctly the overall length was about 7 1/4". The cutting edge is just under 3". Most of the folders I make have blades from 2" to just under 3", most non-lockable, which are good sizes to keep in your pocket.
